A top performance away from home this weekend from the Portmarnock U10’s side.
Charlie McGrath showed great handling of the ball in goal with some great passes out of defence. Cillian Anderson and Kyle Grainger we're solid as a rock in defence with Kyle scoring the first goal. Kieran Doyle ran his socks off all day in midfield with Bobby Gosker linking up the midfield with his usual clever passing.
Cian Wilson got on the scoresheet after a great team passing move and Aaron Flanagan popped up with a real goal poacher’s finish for his goal. Finn up front was unlucky not to score after hitting the post.
Cian Wilson completed the scoring for the day with a left foot volley on the swivel in what was Portmarnock’s best performance to date. Well done lads.

Portmarnock too hot for Raheny
Raheny U17A 0 - Portmarnock U17A 3
On a sunny morning in St Anne’s park the under 17s turned on the style to earn a comprehensive 3:0 victory over Raheny. Playing his second game of the weekend, having turned out for the senior second team on Saturday, Mark Devereux in truth he didn't have a save to make. The back 3 of Evan, Alan Daly and Dylan Davis always in control with holding midfielder Zak Woods Oliver tidying up a lot of ball. In front of them the midfield 3 of Thomas Grumley, Adam Moran and Gavin Johnson controlled possession and the tempo of the game. Ploughing a lone furrow up front Adam Connell kept the entire home defense busy.
Giving an exhibition of how to play the possession based game proved too much for a limited Raheny side. With everyone working hard to offer the man on the ball an option we were able to draw the home team on before releasing Adam C up front with well-placed passes into the channels. It was from one such piece of play that Adam C scored the opener midway through the first half. After several passes through midfield Adam got the ball just inside the box, made room for himself and slotted home from 14 yards. The rest of the first half and the beginning of the second carried on in the same vein but it was a piece of individual brilliance that brought the second goal. Left back Dylan picking the ball up just inside the Raheny half, dribbling past a number of players before rifling low into the corner from the edge of the box. At 2-0 it was time for a formation change with Adam C dropping back to center back to make a back 4 and holding midfielder Zak going to play up top. An excellent first touch and work-rate meant Zak despite not being the biggest target man was able get hold of the ball and bring the midfield up with play. The third goal came when Tom's low cross-come shot found the far corner. A special mention should go to Evan from the 18s for turning out for us and also Mark, Adam C and Adam M who went straight from our game to play for the 18s.
It was a great performance filled with heart and skill and lads who did their club proud.

The LSL Senior 1 Sunday side earned a hard fought 1:0 win over Arklow town on Sunday morning up on Paddy’s Hill moving them closer to the finish line in what is a very tight battle for top spot and promotion to the top LSL Senior Sunday division. With only two games left it’s very tight at the top which promises to be a very entertaining run in and hopefully a successful one for the lads and the club.
Portmarnock take on Leixlip United up on Paddy’s Hill Wednesday night at 7pm. With both sides tied on 47 points in second spot this is a huge game and the club would appreciate all support to cheers on the lads. Come on the Porto!!
