As the year comes to a close , it’s appropriate to give an end of term report card on the U16 Squad. How do you push on from winning the Cup ? Well the answer is to see the cup win as only a peak a Plateau on the way to the Summit .
The squad has expanded and are fielding two very competitive teams every Sunday morning in the NDSL. Both teams have had a very successful terms. Paul’s team will play their last game of the season next week and if they win, they will have cemented 2nd spot in their league. Which is a great achievement for a team that more or less came together towards the end of the summer.
Alan’s crew, welcomed back some players, added one or two new ones and succeed in not only winning their league with games to spare . but did so playing some beautiful football , winning all the league games they played and taking a few bigger teams scalps in challenge games.
If Alan was not such a Man U fan, talk of the “invincibles” would not be out of place !
Great credit must go to all the players, as we are not two teams but one strong squad that’s , end strength is greater than the sum of all the parts . Promotion and strong cup runs are the goals for the next term. We look forward to the fresh challenges 2017 will bring ...
