Pegasus opened the scoring with a cross and a near post finish with Portmarnock equalising a couple of minutes on when Ross Waters headed over an on rushing keeper.
Portmarnock suffered two bad injuries early on - Luke Downes went off with a knee injury and within minutes Cormac Mouselly suffered a broken nose . As Mouselly was receiving treatment Pegasus took advantage and scored with a fine strike from outside the box. Portmarnock equalised with a penalty from Cormac Herilhy after the ref pointed to the spot for a hand ball- 2-2.
Pegasus made it 3-2 with a goal after a defensive mix , as the Pegasus striker finished calmly...
Darragh Browne made it 3-3 after scoring a shot from his own half. A spectacular strike from the veteran who rarely scores.
Pegasus took the lead once more after their striker had a fine strike from outside the box. The seasiders had a couple of half chances as Karl Bissett attepted an equaliser before the ref blew for half time.
Half Time : Portmarnock 4-3 Pegasus
In the second half both teams tightened up at the back, limiting the amount of chances.
As Portmarnocks young side moved the ball forward, Dave Smith shifted the ball onto his left and shot under pressure from out side of the box. It nestled in the bottom corner bringing the scoreline to four all.
As fatigue began set in for both teams, Andy Tier found Simon Lenihan in the box and with his back to goal, laid the ball to Alex Boylan with an exquisite flick. Boylan struck the ball into the back of the net.
93 minutes gone and 5-4 to the Parish.Well done to Pegasus who played their part in the nine goal thriller.
